Dislikes: Rukawa and basically anyone who stands in his way Others: The best way to sum up Sakuragi is that he's an obnoxious, arrogant, self-centered, egotistical, jealous, impulsive, reckless, clumsy, tempermental, loud, selfish ham. Ok ok, maybe I left out some of his good points... But even if he's all that, he's still not a bad guy. The so-called Tensai can also be described as a fast learner, a high jumper, determined and very funny. True, without him, Slam Dunk would just be another boring basketball anime. What had me drawn to the series was him. I love his character, how he looks to himself as some genius player and come out to be just one of the worst. Well not really the worst, just the way he seems to be kicked out of every game yet without majorly helping the team before he does. Maybe he is a genius. ^^; Another thing that isn't really going for him is his love life. He's been rejected by approximately, oh, exactly 50 girls before he met Haruko. That was what made Ryota-kun and Sakuragi-do-aho friends by the way. It's great that Sakuragi's in the team because you can really tell that he's one of the reasons the team sticks together. He's got this certain chemistry with everyone. I like every time Akagi whacks him on the head and whenever Ryota and Mitsui drag him off the court and, most of all, whenever Rukawa calls him an idiot. ^^; Does anyone notice the resemblance between him and Yuu Yuu Hakusho's Kuwabara? *_* First name: Kaede Surname: Rukawa Nick: Kitsune Birthday: January 1 Position: Small Forward Jersey number: 11 Shoes: Air Jordan Height: 187 cm Weight: 75 kg Distinguishing characteristics: Ah, Bishounen-like looks? Yeah, he is the most good-looking guy there, next to Ryota-kun of course. =^^= Likes: Basketball and sleeping Dislikes: Err, anyone who wakes him up? Others: Rukawa...He's very quiet really. Not much of a personality there. :P What's good about him though is that he's a good, hardworking player and has extremely kawaii looks. His favorite word seems to be "do-aho" and has his own fan club consisting of 3 girls in cheerleading outfits. He's probably one of the best players in Shohoku which is one of the reasons that Haruko's goggling over him and has Sakuragi set in beating him. He's some solitary star player that doesn't study and doesn't relate to others very well. You'd think he has this abnormal childhood that prevents him from developing communicative skills in all the years of his life... Or maybe he's, like, Rip van Winkle who slept his life away or something. o_o He and Ryota get along pretty well as teammates, at least there aren't any name-calling and wrestling involved between the both. First name: Hisashi Surname: Mitsui Nick: Michi Birthday: May 22 Position: Shooting Guard Jersey number: 14 Shoes: Asics Height: 184 cm Weight: 70 kg Distinguishing characteristics: I don't know, he doesn't have any distinguishing characteristics...His spiked hair I suppose. Likes: Basketball, Anzai-sensei (He just looks up to him, OK?) Dislikes: He used to hate Ryota-kun, but now he's over it. Others: This guy used to be an MVP player during his middle school days. He was especially known for his beautiful 3-point shots. Every highschool wanted him on their team but he refused them all and went to Shohoku instead because of Anzai-sensei. Mitsui totally looks up to and respects the coach unlike Sakuragi-do-aho who always refers to him as oyaji or old man and has a habit of, err, doing the chin-thing. But Mitsui injured his knee and went away from the team for sometime. When Ryota joined and became a star, he was kinda mad and came back with Tetsuo and the other delinquents. They had some kind of a brawl there until Sakuragi's friends came to help. When Anzai-sensei came in, Mitsui saw him and broke down (Darn AXN cut that part), thus ending the fight. He then joined the basketball team again, cut his hair short and godknowshow got new front teeth. He and Ryota get along great now, you'd probably see the two of them together a lot. I like Micchy next to Sakuragi-do-aho. He's a great player and very determined in proving himself. First name: Takenori Surname: Akagi Nick: Gorilla, Gori Birthday: May 10 Position: Center, Captain Jersey number: 4 Shoes: Converse Height: 197 cm Weight: 94 kg Distinguishing characteristics: Gorilla-like looks? *bonk* @_@ Likes: Basketball and winning the IH championships Dislikes: Slacking, fooling around during practice (That's why he always hits Sakuragi) Others: Akagi's very determined when it comes to basketball. He takes it very seriously and he practices hard. Oh, and he's the team captain by the way. ^^ He's also the only player who studies hard and gets good grades. He's a great player, he's infamous for his high jumps and Gorilla Dunks. He used to be very bad in basketball when he was still a freshman but he's a senior now and judge for yourself if he's any good. He's kind of a bishounen. Well, maybe it's just because he looks normal out there compared to Sakuragi and Akagi... Apart from that, he has the hair. You know what I mean. The kind of bishounen-like hair that's long and covers their eyes. That kind of hair. Kogure-san's the same age as Akagi and they're both in their fourth year of highschool. He shoots very well and albeit he might not be an outstanding player, he's still very good at what he does. He mostly sits out on the bench and cheers the team on as they play. Oh, nd did I happen to mention he has this certain attraction to Aya-chan? :3 First name: Ayako Nick: Aya-chan Class: Second Year, Class 1 Position: Team Manager Height: 165 cm Weight: A girl has her secrets you know... :) Distinguishing characteristics: Curly hair and has her hat on backwards Likes: Basketball Dislikes: Anyone slacking off or fooling around during practice Others: This femme fatal is notorious for her paper fan which she uses to hit the others whom aren't practicing or are just goofing around (eg: Sakuragi, and everyone else excluding Akagi). She, like Haruko, is a basketball fanatic and is totally good at the game. She is always seen cheering the team on or making notes. A great thing about her is that she's very smart and does pretty well in school. Another is that Ryota's totally crushing on the girl! (Whoo!) I wouldn't blame him. Actually, he has very good taste. I think those two are made for each other. It's just that it's sorta like a one way relationship where Ayako doesn't really feel the same about Ryota as he does for her...or does she? :3 You'd probably notice that she always shouts "Nice pass, Ryota!" and there goes Ryota wearing that cute puppy dog expression on his face and murmurs the words, "Aya-chan".
